There is a friendly competitiveness at play within Club Marconi’s regular cards and scopa tournaments, available to men and women of all ages. One of the games enjoyed is scopa, anItalian card game which is an Italian noun meaning “broom”, since taking a scopa means “to sweep” all the cards from the table. Playing a game of scopa is highly entertaining activity, since games traditionally involve lively and colorful banter in between hands – with skill and chance important to the outcome of the games.
