ICONIC CLUB UNVEILS SEVEN YEAR MASTER PLAN FOR RE DEVELOPMENT

Club Marconi has completed Stage One of its planned re development with a fresh new entry Foyer.

One of the largest entertainment precincts in the south west of Sydney, Club Marconi’s 45,000 members and visitors are in for a pleasant surprise when they are greeted at the highly impressive renovated foyer and reception area of entry into the club.

The two-million-dollar renovation had its “ribbon cutting ceremony “with Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone, Club Vice President Mario Soligo and long-term club employee Sam Bianca on hand to do the “honours”.

“The renovation is right on point. It is a five star feel which flows right through. It has been a long time coming – it is a dream that has come to realisation”, said Mr Soligo.

Sam Bianca only just recently retired, worked at the club for forty-eight years… Considering the meeting place for the Italian community is now in its 62 nd year Sam knows more about the vibrant club than most. He has effectively been with the club for the bulk of its long history. His passion is art.

“My impression of the re development is it is contemporary. Art Décor – I think it is beautiful. The area has changed many times, I think this is very smart.” I think the members and visitors will be very pleased and impressed”, said Mr Bianca.

The official opening of the reception area was the culmination of five months’ work during the uncertainty of Covid – 19 and its restrictions.

“Today’s unveiling of the new foyer represents a significant way forward for our long serving members who due to COVID-19 shutdown and compliance with Club capacity were unable to visit their “second home,” explained Club Marconi CEO Tony Zappia.

‘’I hope the members are patient and understand this is the first step in the club’s re development. I anticipate the members will embrace the changes and there is more to come.”

Stage Two is due to commence in early 2021 and completed mid-2021 with Partners Doltone House to begin renovations of the Club’s three Function Rooms – this is pending Covid restrictions.

The Award-winning catering family owned, and operated Company will be providing and creating unforgettable experiences for their clients at Club Marconi.

Further Stages of Development include an upgrading of the Food Offerings and Member Lounge areas.

Also included in the Master Plan are improvements to the outdoor Courtyard areas.

The Club’s Seven Year Plan also includes the construction of 100 Independent Living Units. Work is planned to commence in late 2024 early 2025.

In addition to the changes and renovations inside the club, the further stages of re development include expansion of the club’s Sport Facilities.

This will include the turning of dirt from July 2021 with two synthetic football pitches to be built on fields two and three.  It is hoped the two point five-million-dollar project will be completed by March 2022.

Another exciting stage of development in the club’s Master Plan is an expansion of the already sizeable Gymnasium facility to include a lap pool.

For the 45,000 members of Club Marconi and visitors, exciting times are ahead as they enter a new era for the Club.
