APPROVAL FOR 93 SENIOR LIVING UNITS AT CLUB MARCONI
Club Marconi are proud to announce that after five years of determination, the Club has been successful in obtaining a DA Approval for state-of-the-art resort style Independent Living Units (ILUs) to be located at their Bossley Park site.
In 2018 Club Marconi began to prepare and submit the Site Compatibility Certificate (SCC) through the Department of Planning and received approval in August 2020. The next phase of the project would be for the Club to submit a Development Application (DA) through Fairfield City Council to obtain approval. This process led Club Marconi in early 2022 through a class 1 and class 4 appeal proceeding through the Land and Environment Court.
The approved DA contains 93 apartments, a new two-level members undercover carpark for 637 spaces with vertical lift access and 125 seniors secure parking with lift access to their individual apartment floors for ease of access. It is also proposed to extensively landscape the frontage of the Club site to Prairie Vale Road and Restwell Road, which will improve the overall presentation of the Club site to the public domain. In addition to an opportunity for an in-house restaurant, allied health services, high quality secure landscaping and secure basement parking for resident and visitors. The 93 approved apartments are planned to be made up of the following:
-52 x 2-bedroom apartments ranging from 84m sq to 87m sq
-23 x 2.5-bedroom apartments ranging from 87m sq to 98m sq
-17 x 3-bedroom apartments ranging from 109m sq to 123m sq
-1 x 3-bedroom apartment of 150m sq
“Club Marconi’s decision to embark upon the 93-resort style Independent Living Units development forms part of the Club’s 20-year strategic plan. Approximately 5 years ago it was highlighted in a specialist market research report that there was a shortfall of over 400 Independent Living Units in our primary and secondary catchment areas. As such, Club Marconi wants to continue their historical positive contribution in the community and assist in providing a vibrant, recreational and entertainment destination for our ageing population in the South West Sydney Region” said Club Marconi’s CEO, Matthew Biviano.
This approval provides the opportunity to provide further services and facilities to our valued members. The Board and Management look forward to continuing to proceed into the next phase of this project.
